It's an old pic. That's me during a United Nations presentation during the 70's while in the 3rd grade. Yes I was stick thin. My mom loved making dresses for me especially the costumes we sometimes had to wear for school events. This Pilipino costume was no exception. Got me this orange lace and beads ensemble for a dance...
My mom actually kept it well in her closet.
Minus the moth ball smells. I just saw her take it out from an ordinary plastic bag.

The fabric color and beads are well preserved...
Even the fringes...I love fringes

Today my 1st grader will be wearing the same exact ensemble for her school affair, Buwan Ng Wika (Tagalog language month) to sing her tagalog song:

Perfect!

Thank You Boss!
Thank you grandma!

Christmas parties everyone!!!
They're gonna keep comin' and comin' I tell 'ya.
Mine started last night. The event group Christmas party.
The invite said Summer theme.
Well, I went on my summery maxi dress, a denim jacket (it was raining) and...I figured it was a party so I'd wear heels.
Well, dang!!!
What a party!
Ann had this crazy game of basketball. It sounded simple enough at first but got really competitive and uber fun!
Running in a long dress, no problem. Out running the competition in heels was another story!
It was only on the 4th round that most of us girls decided to take it barefooted.
We didn't win but it was crazy FUN!

Lo and behold, I think I pulled a muscle. hehehe. I'm limping a bit but it doesn't hurt that much.
A major big one is happening tomorrow.
Remember what it is?
It's the 80's party y'all!

I have changed my look since and will be wearing a high enough heeled boots to complete my 80's new wave look.

It's official ladies and gentlemen: 80's pop star will be limping in her new wave boots tomorrow night!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
I'm so excited!

I have taken a photo of my look but will not be posting it here until a few hours before the party. It will not appear anywhere else (as far as I'm concerned anyway, hehehe) but here. Not even on my FaceBook.

See you all tomorrow!!!

My own version of Bella Swan of the Twilight movie saga... HAHAHAHAHA! A last minute light bulb moment. Had to slap on those industrial foundation to get Bella's somewhat alasbaster complexion (as the movie lens would have it anyway) and the somber feel of the movie's cinematography...
I have to admit though that I'm not an avid fan of the movie. I did watch, mind you. Bella Swan particularly just intrigues me. And I love Kristen Stewart the actress.

And the big reveal!!!
hehehehe
For this year's Halloween, my kids decided they were going to be mouseketeers!!!
I thought the idea was kinda cool actually!
How else to pay tribute to our most favorite MOUSE IN THE HOUSE!
I let them choose which circa they would want for their costumes. They chose the original 1955's uniform. So Annette F it is then...

Complete 1955 Mickey Mouse Club ensemble...the ears, white shirt with name on the front and original MMC logo at the back...
Although we made a big of a twist with the color of the skirt. Because it was Halloween we decided it would be black instead of blue.

My girls with my own 30-year-old Mickey Mouse stuffed toy which an uncle sent to me from Orland, Florida.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!
Have fun and be safe!

(all photos taken at the house)

At first it was all about the crown. The 57 peso silver crown we got from a mall. She is obsessed with being a princess. She wears a crown everywhere everytime, except in school. Everytime I put clips on her hair she would just wear the crown, reasoning that 'it is also my headband mama...'.
Isn't she just lovely?
Yesterday we took out the wings from storage. For their school's Trick or Treat, the girls dressed up as Fairy Princess Ballerinas. Remember their ballet ensemble at BIJOUX? Although they paired the costumes with hi cut sneakers. Cool fairies they were!!!

So now, little princess wants to wear her wings too. Took these photos just before she took her afternoon nap today...

And so it has been decided!!!
Every year, Halloween is just about the biggest day for the kids, next to Christmas of course. For the past six years we had been going at our costumes very carefully. We made sure our costumes were nailed to the tee and closest we could get to the original. Addams Family, Dora the Explorer, Wild Cats cheerleader from High School Musical, Hannah Montana.... Last year was a bit of an exception. The kids insisted they go as witches. They asked for ready made costumes from the mall. Im not one to brush off their opinions so we got them witches dresses. And they were HAPPY!!!
This year, I earlier decided to recycle their ballerina ensemble they wore at a fashion show. We could wings (we've had them for 3 years now). Crowns. Princess Fairy Ballerinas!!! Simple, economical, practical. Well...yesterday, I had this major lightbulb moment!!! Yes they still are going to be Priness Fairy Ballerinas for their school trick or treating, they would love that.
But for Halloween night itself, I have decided that we all go out as The Original Mickey Mouse Club members!!!
Think ANNETTE!!!
Isn't she pretty?
I smell photoshoot...hehehe. But not until we get the whole ensemble nailed.

Blue skirt. But to give it a Halloween-ey twist, we decided it should be black!!!
Challenge now is to find printers who would do the names on the front and the MMC logo on the back!
It's our own little homage to the COOLEST MOUSE IN THE HOUSE!!!

SO EXCITED!!!

Please Boss...S.O.S. hehehehe...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!
or...happy 2 days after halloween night..! hihihihi...
What a weekend! Busy busy busy!
You know how it is during halloween, it's one big production in our household. Even though this year we were a little 'subtle' with the holidays we were still caught in its joyful frenzy.
The picture above was in 2006. We all went out as the Addams Family, minus Pogsly (we dont have a male child, hehehe). Joel was Gomez, I was Morticia and Alyssa was Wednesday Addams.
We roamed the dark streets of Mahogany Groove with the JOpsons. What a blast we had!

And year 2007 was the year of the Disney tv movie, High School Musical. We were obssessed! Zombie-obssessed seriously!!! I hand sewed Alyssa's red cheerleader uniform with glittery sequined E (for East High school) and pomspoms. Learned from the 2006 trick or treating that one pumpkin bag just wasnt gonna do it. So we printed this big paper HSM bag for them candies. Alyssa won best costume in one party. Ava was a fairy princess. But the ruffles and tutu bothered her so much she kept pulling them off, thus the absence of any photo of her.

This was the growing up halloween. Alyssa dressed as no other than the teen pop star of the year, Hannah Montana!!! Found a blonde wig, took a vintage shirt from a flea market, hand-sewed the gold beads (and on the pants), found a pair of black boots and VIOLA!!! She had the best of both worlds! HAHAHAHA! And that gold belt, its actually my sequin headband. hehe

...ohhhh dear little miss DORA THE EXPLORER!!! Isnt she a peach??? Boots the monkey is in her backpack.
Presenting... 2009...
I wanted to go Korean and dress up as Jandi of Boys over Flowers but the kids wanted to go as witches. This time we got ourselves costumes off from the rack. My pretty witches!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful halloween!!!
