So...what did YOU wear?
Ahihihihi...
Before you got to my blog, I am pretty sure you most probably have read 30 other fashion blogs talking about the dresses and HATS personalities wore to yesterday's royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I know I have. Hahahaha!

So some got it, some just didn't. But hey, they got invited. And unfortunately for whose hats just didnt cut it, are now the center of every fashion blogger's "attention".

So I'm not even gonna start.
But please do spare me the fashion police treatment as I show you what I would have worn if I have gotten an invite. hehehe...

I gather it was a bit chilly. That is why the Rajo Laurel Plains & Prints Thripps long-sleeve dress in olive would have been perfect. Top it with a Philip Treacy hat, which actually would have been the first thing I shopped for considering the waitlist. Seemed almost everyone favored Philip Treacy for the occasion. I'd also get an old pair of black Christian Dior platforms.
I love the simple and elegant ceremony.
Love how there was no high pitched opera singer "giving her all".
Love how the bride did her own make up. I mean hey, if you got the talent, why not?

It's your wedding, you can have any wedding dress style you want.
That is why I love you!

Hurray for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for pulling off a very beautiful ceremony! And yes, this was a wonderful surprise:

Another personality that got me marching to Plains & Prints last weekend was the Ms Divine Lee. I buy magazines just because she's on the cover. Even gadget and techy magazines which I know not how to read. hehehe...

She's hilarious to talk to!
Pretty lady.

Stilletos. With a capital S please, thank you very much.

It was just too cool to have finally seen her in person. And she wore the dress very very well.

Yeah, I came short of saying, "Ganda mo teh!"

And for some reason, I forgot to ask for her autograph. Somebody flick my brain now!!!

Remember I went one hour before the event at Plains & Prints last weekend?
Wanted to get my wares before the frenzy.
Being an early bird gave me a cool re-usable tote bag! (magic word: re-usable, that did it for me).
I was smiling while the pretty lady was putting my purchases into my new tote.

What I didn't expect was this:
Yey!!! Now it hangs in my closet.

...and this!!! Wasn't I just gushing about it a few entries ago? hehehe.

SUPER!!!

Sweet 16!
We did a wonderful casual family dinner for our 16th wedding anniversary at I.T. Park.
This is what I had nothing to wear to. This is where I was headed off to after I got my Rajo Laurel loot and did a quick ensemble change at the mall bathroom. This is why Rajo L. himself signed a "Happy Anniv" greeting on my shopping bag.
(I will soon have some photos showing the many ways this type of blouse can be worn.)
I wore the stellar blue sleeveless blouse. Very affordable, very beautiful.
And this is one of the weekend's affairs that got me going for the perfect make up.

(Alas I went for the smudge eyes look with the Maybelline diamonds for pizazz, ehem, with Estee Lauder matte brown shadows for a more solid base. Applied minimal bb cream on the Tzone. Took long time evening out my neck with Maybelline mineral powder to match my face. Somehow the application gives contours to the bones.)

Thank YOU, Boss.
Thank YOU two beautiful daughters.
Thank YOU for remarkable in-laws.
Thank YOU for a handsome, gentle, understanding, superman of a husband. hehehe. Seriously.
Thank YOU for 16 years (many more for sure!).
Thank YOU for friendship.
Thank YOU for love.

Finally Rajo Laurel (and his Plain&Prints Summer collection 2011) landed in Cebu last March 18!!! Great timing as it was my weekend of celebrations...
I had a very important dinner date. Really very important.
I had absolutely nada to wear! Really very NADA. ahihihi
What to do?
I figured I'd better get to Plains&Prints one hour EARLIER to avoid the frenzy and get my wares. Seriously I did just that. Event was scheduled at 4pm. By 3.30pm I was at the counter paying for my loot(s). I was a happy camper.

Of course I had to say hi to Jude. I cannot not! She's just too cool to talk with. Gorgeous isn't she?

What kind of blogger forgets to take photos of the whole collection? ME. hahahahaha

And presenting...the man himself. Designer extraordinaire...
RAJO LAUREL!

Lookey lookey! He signed!
Now that's even more precious now, isnt it?

I just had a few minutes to spare. I had to rush to the mall bathroom for a quick change of ensemble...
Yep to any event, the weapons of choice are a trusty camera and your pentel pen! (it makes signing autographs faster, easier and more effecient. hehe)

Thank YOU, Boss!

And the Chicest Bride of the Year Award goes to...drum roll please:
No less than my fave Philippine's songbird, Regine Velasquez, who exchanged wedding vows with the equally talented Ogie Alcasid, It is of another level I tell 'ya. So what's the boots got to do with it?
The bride WORE them.
A Chanel Calfskin Biker Boots with engraved silver plate from the Spring-Summer collection 2010.
Underneath the US $8,000 Monique Lhuillier RED gown she rocked those during her afternoon beach wedding ceremony in Batangas.
Yey for her!!!
She did mention in previous interviews there would be no white wedding gowns for her. I'm guessing nobody expected red actually. But she nailed that creation! The gown was a wedding gift from one of their principal sponsors, Dr. Vicky Belo. Yes, they went to the U.S. for the fitting.
Beautiful beautiful! Bravo!!!

(Mr. R.Laurel, yes, I swiped your photo. Say it's ok, pretty please? ahihihi I love that you took this photo)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

And just in case, you haven't heard her sing (ehem, emphasis on the 'just in case' coz I'm pretty that's next to impossible, hehehe), here she is:

Scorching.
41 degrees C in the car!!!
And so it is official. I do not have that extra time in my hands nowadays.
HAHAHAHA
Once again, I saw, for a full-time mother, that is good news.

Almost the end of April.
All work is done, saved and stashed away. Hard drive cleaned.
The Holy Week was spent in Bacolod. Every 2 years the clan get together in Prudencia, an hour drive away from the city of Bacolod. We get to Bacolod by land. It had been a happy frenzy leading to road trip day.
Although we had been saddened by the passing of our dear Tita Lita in Iloilo, we just had to go on. The number of relatives attending this year had been cut to more than half but it was okay. For the kids, we had to get the show going. They had been anticipating this trip for the past year. And Tita Lita would have insisted that we go.
Left Cebu at 4 in the morning. Boarded the car on the ship to San Carlos City (2 hours trip). By 12 noon we were in Bacolod. And of course, a hearty lunch at Tita Cecile's house.

Lookey lookey, my sister-in-law's bag made of recycled materials. I just love it!!!

This is my pouch. Bought it 2 nights before the trip. That's the new iTouch. The pouch is a Rajo Laurel Rags2Riches. Hand made by the industrious ladies of Payatas, Manila out of recycled fabrics. Fabulous, isn't it? It houses my iPod quite well, actually.
