Because it's Mario Testino. Because it's Kate Moss. Because it's Vogue.
Are we ready to run to the nearest magazine stall yet?
September 2011 gives us back a supermodel on the cover, thank you very much!

Here are some of my favorite shots by Mario Testino of Kate Moss' wedding to Jamie Hince in Southrop, England.

Simply beautiful.
(Custom made wedding gown and veil by John Galliano, shoes by Manolo Blanik which was made with blue insoles as Kate's 'something blue')

Simple, seriously. Do you see the elegance in the bridesmaid's dresses? Whew, one could easily copy all the dresses and shoes, minus the label and price tag of course and made an equally elegant wedding picture, don't you agree?

Breathtaking...

...and the whole ensemble.
Spring definitely calls for bright color. And viola, I didnt know blue was the motif of the wedding entourage! hehehehe...I belonged, so to speak. Wind was blowing the past week, didnt wanna risk some chills at the beach so my Egyptian shawl made an appearance...

And the Chicest Bride of the Year Award goes to...drum roll please:
No less than my fave Philippine's songbird, Regine Velasquez, who exchanged wedding vows with the equally talented Ogie Alcasid, It is of another level I tell 'ya. So what's the boots got to do with it?
The bride WORE them.
A Chanel Calfskin Biker Boots with engraved silver plate from the Spring-Summer collection 2010.
Underneath the US $8,000 Monique Lhuillier RED gown she rocked those during her afternoon beach wedding ceremony in Batangas.
Yey for her!!!
She did mention in previous interviews there would be no white wedding gowns for her. I'm guessing nobody expected red actually. But she nailed that creation! The gown was a wedding gift from one of their principal sponsors, Dr. Vicky Belo. Yes, they went to the U.S. for the fitting.
Beautiful beautiful! Bravo!!!

(Mr. R.Laurel, yes, I swiped your photo. Say it's ok, pretty please? ahihihi I love that you took this photo)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

And just in case, you haven't heard her sing (ehem, emphasis on the 'just in case' coz I'm pretty that's next to impossible, hehehe), here she is:

Before the month of September closed, we were invited to our dear friends, Boy and Cora's Silver Wedding anniversary party. Offered to take some portraits of the bride and groom. Are they not most beautiful? Glowing and lovely!

Pretty flower girl, Rachel.

Ring bearer, John...

Yey! Someone took a pic of me at the church!!! Yes we were wrapped. Requirement of the church.

As you can see, there was no shortage of photographers. Four brothers of the bride are photographers.

Location: Blessed Calungsod Shrine, Archbishop's Palace

Bringing sexy back...literally.

Their close friends, priests and former seminarians, all came all the way from Leyte. So sweet of them to wear uniform shirts with Boy loves Cora prints!!!

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN BOY AND CORA!!!
Thank you inviting us to this wonderful occasion. Forever we treasure our friendship.

15 years.
Today is our 15th wedding anniversary.

On the picture above is our actual wedding cake topper. It has a story of its own.
An authentic "Over the Threshold" figurine by Lladro, no less.

It has been sitting in our shelf for the past 15 years. But now it sits in it own special nook at my parents' house. We finally decided it was safer there with all other collectibles. Almost a month ago we transported it miles away.
An original Lladro. Production has been stopped for this one, which makes this a collector's item.

It's story. Many years ago, an upscale collector's shop opened in the mall where I used to work. The manager was a relative. I used to go every lunch break and closing time by the shop just to drool on this figurine. It cost an arm and a leg. Definitely way out of my league.
But I knew it would be perfect for my wedding cake. It was all I ever think of. But never talked about to anyone because it was, after all, just an impossible dream.
Until one day.

(Yes, I remember our exact conversation.)

I brought Joel along for my annual droolfest. It was the first time I saw the owner in the shop talking with the manager. The manager motioned me to come. We were introduced to the owner. Formalities. "I love everything in your shop", I said.
Him:"Thank you, dear. Do you have any favorite?"
Me:"Yes, almost everything. And the 'Over the Threshold' figurine."
Manager (injects):"They're getting married soon."
Him:"Buy it then."
Me:"It's way too expensive for me. I'm not rich."
Him:"Which one is it?"

The manager leads the owner to 'my' figurine.
Him:"I'll give you a discount."
Me:"I probably still would not be able to afford it sir, but thank you."
Him:"Do you like magic?"

(I knew he was a popular magician)
Me:"Yes sir!!!"
He then let Joel and me sit so he could show us some magic tricks. The manager squeezes my arm. I smiled at her, not understanding her gesture.
The magic show was fun. We were the only audience but our laughter could have frighteningly shaken all the display in the shop.

Him (owner, wrapping up the 'show'): "I cannot just give you the figurine you know."
Me:"I know sir, it's alright."
Him:"What I can do is give you 50% discount."
Me: (sad than ever)..."Thank you sir but that would still be expensive."

Owner looks at me hard:"Another 20% off on top of 50 (%)"

By this time I have lost all the power in my voice box.

Him:"How much money do you have in your wallet now?"
Me (knowing exactly how much coz it was payday):"P2,500 only sir."
Him:"Give me your P2,500. 70% discount. Pay me the rest in 2 months."

I officially went cold.

Him:"And you take your figurine home right now. Deal?"

Me:"Deal"

Of course I squeeled. Of course I jumped up and down like crazy. Of course I cried.
...before I said my 'thank yous'.

Thank You Boss for the wonderful 15 years.
We pray to be blessed with more.
