The other day I chanced upon the song Ave Maria by the composer Gonoud on YouTube. I love the song. I used to play it on the piano. Yep, it's the piece that the nuns in the dormitory made /forced me to learn and memorize. I didnt like playing the piano so much. I play the piano okay, but I am no Chopin, that's for sure. So learn the piece I did. Learned to love it too. Also another way I got into the nuns' favor, they'd let me stay out an extra hour after my 8pm curfew!(who comes home before 8pm in college anyway? Me, apparently, only me). They also let me talk longer on the phone. This is the piece. (Of course the pianist in this video must be a professional, my hands didnt --never-- moved that way.) They left the singing to another girl though, probably knew that would be too much for me to handle. Well tried to learn the song in the end anyway. Many versions of this prayer, I love this one the most.

(I have moved some entries around a bit on the blog design to accommodate the size of the video screen. I actually didnt know I could simply embed this one on this particular blog --ok, that statement just brought unto mind the things I didnt know would be happening...I need to function now.)

GOUNOD/BACH Ave Maria Piano Version @ Yahoo! Video

Ave Mari

Ave Maria
Gratia plena
Dominus tecum
Benedicta tu in mulieribus
Et benedictus fructos ventri tui Jesus
Santa Maria
Santa Maria
Maria
Ora pro nobis
Nobis precatoribus
Nunc et in ora
In ora mortis nostrae
Amen, amen.

Lovely, isnt it?
Opens up the soul that has closed down ever so tightly...
