Few weeks before we were set for Bacolod, I saw a picture in Nang Cynch's files of wooden furniture at her brother-in-law's house in La Carlota. I have sworn to swing by the town when we go to Prudencia. So on Good Friday, we made the 30-minute drive to the hometown of Manong Oca.
Yeye!!! What a sight! Wood wood wood everywhere!
Nong Junior designed the pieces himself and had commissioned his own carpenter to build them.
Aren't they divine?
This piece particularly holds my fancy. A simple textured wall decor.
After about 1 hour outside I came back in to check it out again as I have noticed the sun has changed position as it was approaching high noon.
And yes, I was right...

The sun has cast strong light on the wall decor forcing it's textures to make wonderful abstract shadows on the wall.

That is the church of La Carlota. It is very old. It holds great sentiments for Nong Oca coz he had his high school graduation here. They were renovating. And I am glad they have left some precious old walls, bricks, dirt and all untouched.
