What does the word 'gullible' mean?
Gullible -- func.: adjective; /ge-le-bel/
ME.
You'd think I'd be on my 3rd day of diet today.
Two nights ago, around 9.30? Alyssa was fast asleep already as it was a school night. But Ava and I were still playing 'cooking'. She cooked pizza that night for me. Joel was on his way home. Then my 2-year-old bundle of sweetness whispers on my ear, "I want pizza mommy"
Me: "Huh? How about we go downstairs and get milk? That would be great, right?"
Ava: "No, no, no , no (her mouth forms this cute little circle when she says this)... pizza please mommy."
Me: "How about we make your milk together in your own special glass?"
Ava: "I want pizza" (clutches her hands together in begging gesture and smiles at me beautifully)
Me: "Hmmm...(tries to humour her) I know!!! Milk would be good for you tonight! C'mon let's go get milk, you and mommy."
Ava frowns, folds her arms, stumps her feet all the way to the door and looks away.
Ava: "yummy pizza".
(with pleading sad look in her eyes)
Like I said, gullible.
The yummy hot delicious picture of pizza is already swimming in my mind. As soon as Joel arrives we all went to get pizza at a nearby joint. The place was jam packed! (It always is). All the while Ava was smiling beside me at the backseat waiting for our take-out.
15 minutes later we were back in our house with Ava seated at the head of the dining table, munching away on our pizza!!!
She had not been able to finish her second slice so Joel offered to eat it for her. The next day I asked her,'wasn't our pizza yummy?'
Ava: "Daddy ate my pizza!"
Every waking hour I give thanks for our sweet beautiful daughters.
Thank YOU.
