Built during the 17th century by Chinese merchants the Yap-San Diego Ancestral House is located at Lopez Jaena corner Mabini St. in the heart of Pari-an, Cebu City. This house is considered to be one of the oldest in the city. Originally owned by Don Juan Yap and his wife, Dona Maria Florido. Their oldest daughter, Maria Florido Yap, married Don Mariano San Diego ( native of Obando, Bulacan) in the 1880's. This house is presently in the custody of renowned artist and choreographer, Val San Diego, who has vowed never to sell the house in his lifetime (and that of his children and grandchildren).
