Let me share with you some photos I took during this morning's school activity, the talent show of Buwan Ng Wika (National Language Month), which is Tagalog. Which my little girl doesn't speak too well, but she's learning.
She was chosen to represent her 1st grader class. Another accidental singing star in the making. ahihihi. What we thought was a simple classroom show turned out to be a school-wide event. Weeks ago their assignment notebook said they were to wear a Pilipino costume on a certain day for their Pilipino subject activity. They can choose to dance or sing. Little kid sang. Jumped from her seat (she wasn't listening, ahihi) when she heard her name after the word,'congratulations'. Came home with the news and more requirements for this morning's talent show. She didn't even know it was going to be a contest. Finally 2 days ago, I gently told her she's going to do great in the singing contest.

Her: "It's a contest? Wow...I'm sure it's gonna be fun, right mom?"

She won 3rd place against the 2nd and 3rd graders. That's a mighty feat I say!

As we hugged and kissed she exclaimed:"Could you believe that? Im 3rd! That's the most amazing thing!"

And we are most happy. As we have always taught her, there are times when winning doesn't actually matter, what's more important is that she enjoys what she's doing.

And thank you Tita Sheila and Nida for giving us beautiful hand me downs such as this pair of gold sequined sandals. It is very tricky finding the perfect and correct footwear for national costumes. The readily available white sandals would have ruined it. Beige color would be too bland. These gold treasures are just perfect!

Thank You Boss!
Thank You for pure hearts.
