It rained cocktails and fun!
The GSM Flair Idol 2010 Visayas elimination was a success last Sunday. It rained alright but it sure didn't dampen anybody's spirit. HRM and Bartending students came from as far as Iloilo, Tacloban and Dumaguete to get the chance to be the next Flair Idol.
It was my first time to see such coolness! Unbelievable pressure. Doing their thing throwing those bottles (up to 3 of them at a time) up in the air, twisting, shifting and turning while making sure they beat the 6-minute mark and end with a drinkable concoction. I was most especially so proud that Iloilo and Tacloban came to join the competition as together with friends, I supervised their area mixology seminars last September. Yep, that had been one of the many things that kept me on my tippy-toes. And finally they were in the area elimination!!!HEY MR. DJ!!! hehehe...

Going to a bar and watching them bartenders mix the drinks is one thing. But watching these future flair idols was definitely another!!!...like no other, actually. I have never seen such an event. I could feel the pressure. How could you catch 3 bottles while turning? With drinks in them? And so young them people. So much talent in those young bodies!!! I salute!!! I love it!!!
...and the winners are...!!! 10 students will head off the semi finals soon!!!
