Bread and Salt.
It is a Slavic tradition.
When respected guests arrive on an important occasion, a loaf of bread with a salt cellar (container) in the middle is presented to them by a young woman dressed in the traditional costume the sarafan and kokoshnik.
This tradition reflects the hospitality of the Russian, khlebosolny.
The bread is the most respected food and the salt represents lasting friendship.
And there I was much surprised and amused when I was greeted by Viva, very beautiful and warm in her Russian dress.

So many new cultures I learned today about Cebu's sister country, (officially known as) the Russian Federation.
Watch out for their exhibits soon to open during the 2nd Philippine Russian Business Forum!!!
See you all there!
