Rewind 1986.
Let's hear it once again as Viper lectures Maverick in the movie Top Gun starring Tom Cruise:
Viper: Top Gun rules of engagement are written for your safety and for that of your team. They are not flexible, nor am I. Either obey them or you are history. Is that clear?
Maverick: Crystal.
Crystal indeed.
The message was loud and clear.
Nobody, not anybody...threatens the number one tv network in the country.
So, celebrities and stars, both real and disillusioned, you have your warning there.

The 5-year reign of the noontime show, Wowowee, has come to an abrupt end. The whole country is divided as to who is to blame. Most point their fingers to the host himself, Willie Revillame. Now what he does with his personal life is absolutely none of my business. But what he does and say on national tv is!!! Every single word that comes out from his mouth and every little action of his body reaches even the most remote places of this country. My household do not watch his show. We were never fans. For some good reasons. But people we know and deal with, even my kids' playmates are avid fans. And whatever vibes Mr. Revillame throws to his fans influence some unknowing souls. I am not saying all. As I do give credit to those people who are unaffected by what they see on tv. However, we cannot deny the great number of willing minds who embrace the persona that is Mr. Revillame. Thus, there will be thousands of Mr. Revillame walking amongst us in every nook of this city who my little girls would have to deal with every day. It is undeniable that he has great influence. He, afterall, is a star, in his own right.
He breaths millions. I give him credit for that. But I also had been aware of all the controversies he has gotten himself into. Hasn't he been reprimanded by his mother network once before?
He dared threaten to quit his show if his nemesis would not be fired.
Stars come and go, but when a network in number one, it stays numero uno! A star who is paid millions by the minute cannot and will never bring it down.
Kapesh?
Blah blah blah...
You know how it went...
In the end? Everyone but some selected few in the show, loses his/her job.
So what good was his threat bring?
I'm not one to shot a wounded man. But one word: KARMA.
Hmmm...the air is too heavy. I need to get my Top Gun/Tom Cruise fix!!!
Hehehe
Be well everyone!!!
