Didnt get much sleep last night. Too scared of what today was gonna be. This was it. The past 24 hours, I have gone to 3 different doctors, my internist, my pulmologist and my obgyne. Ob-g wise, I was okay. But the 2 other doctors have agreed: once and for all they need to know how much fluid is in my pleural cavity, that very paper-thin space between my lungs and the wall. I had been suffering pains on the left side whenever I'd deep breath, cough or laugh hard. Or even when I burp. Sure enough the xray shows there is something in that pleural space. A week of treatment had not made any dramatic changes.
So another day at the laboratory.
This was a "consequence" of the pneumonia I suffered a week ago.

And this morning we finally did that ultrasound. Thinking about one big needle on my back just didnt sit well with my imagination. Hehehehe.
And who else but a former classmate in Medical Technology in Velez College should be the one to take the ultrasound. I had been hoping it wouldnt be him. But as I was prepped by the technician, I heard the doctor behind the curtain reading my xray plates. And of course, I recognized the voice!!! HAHAHAHAHA it was cool seeing him after all these years. Afterall he was a very good friend in college. The procedure was quick. So off to my pulmologist we went.

And our prayers had been answered!!! Indeed there is fluid but in a very insignificant amount. Does not warrant to be extracted. YEY FOR ME!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
If it had been a significant amount I would have to go thru this:

Thorancentesis.
It's a minor O.R. procedure and my doctor is one of the best but still scary for me. hehehe. It will remove the fluid from the pleural space. With the use of a hollow needle into the thorax. It is indeed invasive. We would just have to let the fluid drain out naturally.
And right now, I give a big sigh of relief.
So now...continue on to the road of healthy eating and proper exercise.

Thank you Joel for staying at my side all the time. For the wonderful support.

Thank YOU!!!
Thank YOU!!!
What else can I say but...
Thank YOU Boss.
