And Andy goes off to college everyone..!
I take it Toy Story 3 would be the last installment. So sad to let them toys go but happy at the same time they have found a new home in cutie as a pie toddler, Bonnie. The whole world breaths a sign of great relief and wears a happy smile at night as we all know that Bonnie will take good care of Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Mr. & Mrs. Potato, Slinky, the Aliens, the green Soldiers, Hamm, Rex and Barbie...just like the way our dear boy Andy treasured them all.
Andy grew up right in front of our very eyes. We have gone with him in the very first movie as they moved to another house, as he left for Cowboy Camp in the 2nd and now our hearts are up his sleeves as he goes off to college.
Each movie the toys have their own (mis)adventures. Ever so entertaining us with their own views of (toy) life. Enchanting us with how life-like they are made by the computer artists and movie makers. Could you believe the first Toy Story movie was released in 1996 in the Philippines? It was one of Alyssa's certified favorite when we bought a dvd for her in 2008.
Finally the toys' quest comes to an end. With Andy giving them to Bonnie. Wasn't it a wonderful scene? The 3rd installment has become matured and quite riveting. My 6 and 3-year-old girls may have taken the movie as it is but I was touched more deeply and forever shall be enchanted. The happiest moment being when Andy tells Bonnie..."they (toys) mean a lot to me." That is what the toys had been forever longing to hear from him has they had been spending more and more time in the chest as Andy had already outgrown them.
Now do you have another favorite scene? I do.
It may not be the most heart fluttering apple pie sweetness kind of scene but it moved me. I know it touched most of us. Never...never have I ever been so moved with the possibility of the lead characters being killed...in an animation film.
Their faces, expressions, unsaid emotions might as well have been acted by real life actors. The way Jessie's mouth opens as she accepts her fate her eyes staring into Buzz's. How helpless the ever superhero Buzz looks at Jessie. How Jessie stops Bull's Eye from struggling and holds his hand in surrender. How Slinky reaches out to his friends. Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head holding on to one another. Didn't your spirit lose its breath watching Woody desperately scampering up and away from impending death. The way he stopped as he looked at his friends' faces, knowing there was no longer anything more he could do for them.
That scene should get an award by itself.
I almost cried. (I didn't, too embarrassed for my kids to see).
But of course, who better to save the day than the 3 green ALIENS!!!
"...the CLAAAAWWWW..."
Ohhhh, Ava says it so adorably!
HAHAHAHAHA...
Hurray for the Aliens!
And so folks, that's about it. Time to say adieu to this one crazy bunch of adorable toys. So long my friends!

So long Woody, so long Buzz...Jessie...Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head...Hamm...Rex...Bull's Eye...Slinky...Barbie (I'm glad you found Ken, hehe)...and the 3 green Aliens (you rule!!!).
Enjoy and have many many great years with Bonnie.
**sniffs**
(Hilarious the way they translated the song,"A Friend in Me" into Spanish in the ending dance sequence...hehehe)
