Hong Kong people/living in/residents/tourists need their gadgets.
First thing I noticed the first time I stepped into a train at the new MTR is that all, everyone, had some gadgets with them. I just thought,"wow, they're pretty gadget-ty around here. They're pretty choosy too. MP4's, PSPs, camera phones, Blackberry's, iPhones..."
Oh well, it is afterall, Hong Kong. Electronics stuff sold everywhere. Pretty hi-tech.
Even 14 year olds have their own.
I had my iTouch. Loaded it with movies and thousands of songs for the trip. But I never got to use it for that purpose. Was too busy being a tourist.
And the train rides excited me. Watching them winter clad classy ladies and beautiful designer bags. And their gadgets.
Everyone else was either texting, tweeting (I presume), listening to music with their eyes closed or talking on their hi-tech phones.
Then after awhile I dawned on me. They NEEDED their gadgets. They were going on train rides at least 2 times everyday. Long train rides. And it is very rare that you get to sit or stand next to a friend. So no talking. Like I said, they needed their gadgets. So much time to kill. Or they'd probably go insane looking blankly while riding a train. That's what happens at a big country. Your friend lives miles and miles away. You just talk on the phone.
So I guess that's why they need their hi-tech mp4's.
Love it!
Hehehehe
