Anti-histamine: a drug that counter acts the whatevers of histamine in the body to prevent or cure an allergy reaction.
That word was just something I only heard Nang Cynch mention once or twice before. Apparently I am about to say and hear about it for a long long time.
About two weeks ago I went alone to Mindanao. Of course I had my medicine bag, it goes wherever I go. I love the holy place! Plants plants and plants everywhere. I figured, hmmm this is the place for me.
Not.
Hahahaha...
I have told my friends I would have to stay by the door during the mass coz I have a bit of a cough. I decided to go around the place, (literally, coz the place was constructed round) before mass started, met the priest and waved hello. He, looked nervous. hehehe. With what's going to be happening the next 10 minutes, I should have been nervous too!!!
Minutes after the mass started I began coughing more often than I had been. Instinct told me I had to go somewhere more open and started up the stairs to another building. Good thing no one was around as my coughing got really really bad! I found it strange though that there was no asthma attack. For a minute I got better so I decided to go back down to the mass. So not!!!
Cough came back and as bad as ever. I couldnt stop. I looked up and saw big big trees, I figured it must be the pollen. I must be allergic to pollen! What a way to find out!!! And while Im in a new place pa!!! Arrrggg! I started to panic coz there was just trees and trees everywhere I didnt know where to go.
I had been there the day before, I was ok. Tears have started to come out, my nose was running I could hardly see where I was going. All I knew was I needed to get away from them trees. Followed the driveway down and practically half ran half walked to the gate. Tita Terry was just coming up in a taxi, saw my very red face and followed me. I needed air. In this case, I needed polluted air... from the cars and dust in the street! Hahahahaha! They proved to be less harmful to me than the natural oxygen the plants were giving off within the compound.
Texted Marie, texted Nang Cynch. Where can I go for medicine? What to get? Nang C and I were just laughing about the whole incident over the phone, I was supposed to look for Fr. S so he could get some anti histamine from their building. I presume there's a clinic in there. By this time the mass has ended and people have began to come out go in peace! HAHAHAHAHA. I was the only person going the wrong way. hehehe. I had to find Fr. S. I think I saw him somewhere minutes ago. Ahay, I missed the mass... met a tita and the priest, said a quick hello, picture picture. I was still floating from all the sneezing and coughing but I think I managed to smile and say something nice. I hope! HAHAHAHA. and there!!! I saw Fr. S by the door. Off to the building we went up. Met the priest whose mass I missed the past hour, talk and a quick picture. I didnt dare tell him I missed his mass. hehehe.
Sorry padre, emergency lang po talaga. hehehe.
Yeheeeyyy Bro. M came with the anti histamine. A little cute pink pill. Then everything was good! Hehehe. Was able to attend the other priest's mass start to finish. Fr. S. said that theirs was the only holy place with so many exotic plants and that someone was just spraying them with pesticides. Just my luck! HAHAHA. He also said it was not a place for people with allergies. Uh-uh... Joel was almost transferred there last year. We almost became residents of this town last year! hehehehe.
Apparently I was supposed to take that every 4 hours???
Nanay I. woke me up 4.30 in the morning for the 6am mass. I was kinda groggy from the medicine but got to our destination early anyway. Sat by the bench by cashier's office and I swear I almost fell asleep as Nanay called my name from the comfort room a few steps away. Then again, I think I did fall half asleep coz I remember opening my eyes slowly to look at my watch. 5:50am. Stood up with a start to see if Nanay has gone down ahead of me. And now it can be told: good thing she called my name loudly, good thing I opened my eyes and stood up ---moments...or even SECONDS before the priest walked thru the door!!! Or else he would have found me dozing off on the bench!!! HAHAHAHAHA! And that would have totally flipped me out! Thank you Nanay. hehehe...Time for the 6am mass. Stayed by the door again throughout the mass. Felt like I was walking on air, so afraid to walk during communion I might look drugged out! HAHAHAHAHA By breakfast I was so hungry and had become ever so sleepy. HAHAHAHA. Good thing I had such fun talking with them friends or else I would have fallen asleep right there on my chair in front of everybody!!! That would have been embarrassing! HAHAHA I forgot all about sleep. Even before my plane took off I was already in dreamland. Didnt notice the very bumpy flight ( a friend who was in the same flight told me about it later).
So anti histamine is here to stay. For long. Hay...
And so my anti histamine story. Toinks!
What is another word for 'APPARANTELY' anyway???
Ahihihii...
