1971 when this commercial ad of Coca Cola came out. Since then the song has been my favorite. I still sing it all the time. I have taught it to my daughters. Light, simple and happy. And it 3 years old I had been hooked (although not to the softdrink, hehe). While everyone in my pre school class wanted to be a doctor or nurse... I wanted to be an actress. More like a director. I have always wanted to capture life, the simplicity and joy. I did finish 3 years of medical technology. But my heart was in advertising. Finally the Boss put me where I belong and finished Fine Arts majoring in Advertising. hehehe. Now an amateur photographer. Long long road for me. Then a friend posts this video on her FaceBook. Makes me realize I am here. And I am to travel further. Simple, happy, geniune.

I love watching their faces. Not too commercialized yet. Not too made up. Everything almost natural. Of course in every advertising, profit is, was and always will be the main goal. But these commercials make me forget that. This made an impact on me at 3 years old. MOre so ever now! Happiness... all depends on how I see life, the kind of life I have been guided to choose. Be with people. Capture their moments, good and bad in a click of my camera. Those simple, yet beautiful seconds of their days treasured forever in photographs. That is what I have chosen.
This is the reunion ad they made 20 years ago... with the original lead singer, Linda Neary, with her daughter. They have cast the original actors, most of them, although I am not so sure about the children. But just the same, the message is clear. In our day and age of new technology, we need to remember to keep things simple. Know the neighbors. Speak eye to eye. Take time to stop and talk with them. I, for one has succumbed to the magic of high tech digital camera and laptops, USBs, cellphoness and endless appointments. Surely one could not deny it makes life a little better. But there are ways to keep every day life a simple existence. I work for that goal. Modern, happy, worthy.

I smile.
